WE ARE NOT JUST A WOMAN

Image
https://givingcompass.org/article/why-philanthropists-should-invest-in-womens-movements-not-empowerment Women's empowerment can be described in a variety of ways, including accepting or attempting to seek out women's perspectives, and improving women's status through education, awareness, literacy, and training. They were treated as if they had never existed in the past. As if men were the exclusive owners of all rights, including the power to vote. With the passage of time, women began to recognize their own power. There was a turning point in the fight for women's rights.  https://www.ndtv.com/world-news/british-men-are-bigger-supporters-of-gender-equality-than-women-survey-1264359/amp/1 Gender equality is a human right first and foremost. A woman has the right to live in dignity, free from hunger and fear.  https://www.pinterest.com/pin/802344489857269538/ Women play numerous and vital functions in our society. Their role is more than just being a good mother and wif...

I need to choose, right?

https://images.app.goo.gl/6CRpGTxeGuHwRku3A This quarter challenge me the most. I have a hard time inserting the things I want and love to do in my schedule or should I say inserting time for answering modules? Time management is really difficult and important and I am glad that I don't have lacking even though I passed some of my answers late. I mean like what they always say, late is better than nothing, but if you could pass it early then much better.  https://thehappytrip.com/2015/02/list-of-hotels-and-inns-in-vigan-city/amp/ Actually, I learned a lot about my community in this quarter because of our Community based research in ICT. CBR makes me love and appreciate Vigan more. I learned the history of Vigan.  We are still writing blogs where we can express our idea to the different topics. I am really glad that we continue writing our own blogs because we can read each other's thoughts and we can gain new learning from it.  https://www.vecteezy.com/vector-art/2...

We have a choice

https://www.gbhoh.com/do-addictive-drugs-affect-the-covid-19-vaccine-2021-data/ The impact of Covid 19 on our life is very visible and the thing we can do is accept the changes, live with it and go on with our lives. After a year or two, finally, vaccines for adults and seniors are here. Months passed, vaccines for teenagers finally arrived. People are so happy and excited to get shots of Covid 19 vaccines but there's also some who are not yet sure and afraid to get vaccinated because of the possible side effects. If you have an unvaccinated friend, do you suggest to her/him to get vaccinated now?  To put an end to the pandemic, a huge portion of the population must be immune to the virus. A vaccination is the safest approach to accomplish this. As of now, there's 11 vaccines approved for use in the Philippines. 61.2% of the Philippine population or 67.1 M people are fully vaccinated.  The most asked questions are, "is Covid 19 vaccine safe?" "Is Covid 19 vaccine...

Inspiration and Lesson from the Past

Image
https://dap.edu.ph/araw-ng-kagitingan/ April 9th is traditionally connected with Bataan and Corregidor, and today we celebrate events that occurred 80 years ago. Today and tomorrow, Filipinos can reminisce on times of fortitude and courage in the face of adversity, and if required, call on that strength again.  Thousands of ordinary Filipinos — with or without formal training who took up arms anyway, soldiers who had not surrendered or escaped, and civilians providing logistical, intelligence, and moral support — have shown their willingness, courage, and valour in continuing the fight against the occupation forces.  Looking back on the events of the past, we can see that our heroism must extend beyond defending our shores from foreign invasion. These aren't simply battle stories; they're our stories, our history, and stories of Filipinos who have accomplished tremendous things.  https://images.app.goo.gl/o3XR8bFmhJxctETq9 The Araw ng Kagitingan commemorates not on...

God, Jesus Christ and Us

https://troubadour.francis.edu/3387/uncategorized/lenten-season-a-time-for-reflection-and-growth/ In Catholic Churches, Lenten, also known as Kuwaresma, is one of the most important seasons. It's a means to remember our Lord Jesus Christ's sorrows and sacrifices when he died on the cross and rose three days later, washing away the world's sins. A lot has changed since the pandemic began. People were only allowed to attend mass on Sundays, and other traditions were outlawed. Let's take a look at how the Lenten season was observed during the pandemic.  Looking back before the pandemic, lenten season is observed with street processions, the Way of the Cross, sermons and prayers meditating on Jesus' Seven Last Words (“Siete Palabras”) and the staging of Senákulo. As I remember, during the Lenten season me and my family are attending mass, joining the processions and when we are at home we are watching movies about Jesus christ. I also remember, there are times that my...

Rich Culture of Ilocos Sur

Image
https://www.facebook.com/100163261527161/posts/506780650865418/ Kannawidan is one of the important festivals here in Ilocos Sur. We celebrate the separation of two Ilocos provinces in 1818. These provinces are Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte. This festival is a showcase of indigenous performance, religious rituals, as well cooking demos featuring the best ilocano dishes.  Between the last week of January and the first week of February, the event is held. On the day of the inauguration, a mass is generally held at St. Paul Metropolitan Cathedral. The Patron Saints of the 40 parishes, as well as figures of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary, parade around the city after that. It is the Ilocanos' way of thanking God for not only the many blessings, but also for the rich history of the city. The townfolk's strong faith is on display at this festivity.  One of the most awaited events during the Kannawidan festival is Saniata ti Ylocos pageant. Each municipality and town has a representat...
