These provinces are Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte. This festival is a showcase of indigenous performance, religious rituals, as well cooking demos featuring the best ilocano dishes.  Between the last week of January and the first week of February, the event is held. On the day of the inauguration, a mass is generally held at St. Paul Metropolitan Cathedral. The Patron Saints of the 40 parishes, as well as figures of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary, parade around the city after that.
