The Philippines are very prone to natural disasters like typhoons, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and more. Somebody might be wondering, “why is this country prone to natural disasters?” Well the Philippines are located along both the path of tropical storm brewing in the western Pacific and the Ring of Fire. Unfortunately, Filipinos are not only suffering from natural disasters but also human made disasters and at the moment the Philippines are facing and fighting Covid19 pandemic.

These disasters are really destructive and it kills lives and
destroys properties. Remember the damage caused by typhoon Haiyan/ Super Typhoon Yolanda in the country? That up to this day we can still see the traces left by the typhoon especially in Tacloban. Years have passed and some of the affected areas and people are still not fully recovered. Based here we can conclude that the country is not resilient enough because it took us many years to recover.

As I stated earlier, the Philippines are facing and fighting the
Covid19 pandemic. Well, not only the Philippines but the whole world and it is unfortunate
for us again because we left behind. While our Covid19 cases rise our economy will fall and the Philippines will be mired in debt. But it is not too late because hopefully all Filipinos will be vaccinated and we will be going to make our economy grow again. I know it will take years before we can
pay the country’s debt.

Those are some problems that we or the country encountered and it
made us realize that the Philippines need to be more resilient for us to grow faster and to proceed to achieve our goals. Goals that are not only for ourselves but also for our country. If we want a more resilient country we must unite as a nation and if along the way we encounter a big change we must STOP, ADAPT and then PROCEED.
