The Quality: Not as Good as Before

Image
https://www.baldwin-school.org/apps/news/article/1178052   The pandemic caused a lot of problems, not only on our health but also on the quality of education. During this pandemic we do not have a physical class but we do have an online and modular class. It is great because despite of Covid19 pandemic, DepEd makes ways for us to continue our study by different learning methods. I know that their intention was good because they do not want us to be left behind in the field of education and the question is, “Is the quality of education good?” I think it is not as good as before. https://www.rappler.com/nation/millions-fail-to-enroll-elementary-high-schools-philippines-2020-2021 We can’t change the fact that not all students, even teachers are able to keep up with the new strategies of learning. The number of enrollees during this pandemic is lower than the number of enrollees before pandemic. In school year 2019-2020 the estimated number of enrollees was 27 million while in S.Y 2020...

Philippines: ADAPT and then PROCEED

Image
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/8540522.stm The Philippines are very prone to natural disasters like typhoons, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and more. Somebody might be wondering, “why is this country prone to natural disasters?” Well the Philippines are located along both the path of tropical storm brewing in the western Pacific and the Ring of Fire. Unfortunately, Filipinos are not only suffering from natural disasters but also human made disasters and at the moment the Philippines are facing and fighting Covid19 pandemic. https://www.scout.org/node/20516 These disasters are really destructive and it kills lives and destroys properties. Remember the damage caused by typhoon Haiyan/ Super Typhoon Yolanda in the country? That up to this day we can still see the traces left by the typhoon especially in Tacloban. Years have passed and some of the affected areas and people are still not fully recovered. Based here we can conclude that the country is not resilient enough beca...

Voice of Youth

Image
Dear Mr. President, https://tinyurl.com/dutertepicture        Great day sir! I am writing this letter to express my thoughts as a youth in this country. There are so many issues that adolescents are involved with, like mental health, teenage pregnancy, online learning and SOGIE. I know that we are facing and fighting a pandemic at the moment but I was hoping that the government will give attention to the issues I stated .  https://tinyurl.com/Adolescentproblem          The pandemic affects the youth especially their/our mental health. There are teenagers who take their life because they can’t handle it or they are not mentally stable. I suggest that we should spread awareness and stop the stigma of mental health by educating people about it. As the pandemic lasts the incidence of teenage pregnancy increases, because of that we should also teach students about sex education so they will have enough...

DANAYA: The Goddess of the Land

Greetings to everyone! I am Danaya Agyapas Pascua and I live in Capangpangan, Vigan City. I was born on 4 th of February 2006 in Tagudin, Ilocos Sur. I am the only child of Virgilo and Dheesere Pascua. Like the other youth I also have a dream and I see myself that someday in the near future I will be a successful woman, comfortable in her life and doing great in her chosen field. I saw a quote on the internet and it says, “People constantly change so don’t ever think you fully know someone,” so let me present myself to you and make you know who I am today.      I am very grateful to the family that I have. My parents are giving me the attention and things that I need. They are showering me with love and care, protecting me as long as they can, trying to understand me all the time, guide and support the things that I am doing. If you wonder what kind of daughter I am, I think I can describe myself as sweet but moody. I’m clingy to my mama, I always h...
